Jo Bair Springer, executive director of the enCourage Advocacy Center provides insight into the 2021 Women’s March that took place in downtown Hastings which was featured in the Hastings Tribune.

Entering Central Park on the afternoon of March 20, after a march through downtown Hastings, participants in the Nebraska Women’s March carried signs and chanted loudly:

“What do we want? Equality! When do we want it? Yesterday!”

If the message sounds somewhat angry, that’s because there’s anger behind it, according to one of the four speakers, who addressed an audience of about 70 people in the park following the march.
